How To Bless Your Home Today in 5 Easy Ways and Why You Should Use Anointing Oil As Well

Have you ever had a strange feeling in your home? Or out of nowhere started getting frequent nightmares? It might not even be you that’s experiencing these things but someone else within your household.

You might want to consider blessing your home. Maybe you’ve never done it before. Don’t worry. Below I will give you five simple ways to go about doing this. And no, you don’t have to be a pastor or a Catholic priest to be able to do it.

If there are no strange feelings or nightmares happening it is still a good idea to bless and anoint your home. and I'll tell you why.

Anointing In The Bible

There are different types of anointings. There is the spiritual anointing (Acts 10:38) and literal oil (Exodus 30:22-25). Such examples can be seen in the Old and New Testament.

9 “Then you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and consecrate it and all its furniture, so that it may become holy. 10 You shall also anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar, so that the altar may become most holy. -Exodus 40:9-10

At that time, anointing oil was regulated by priests for the tabernacle. Whatever would be anointed became holy. It was set apart for God.

In the New Testament, there are at least two references to using oil when people were sick (James 5:14, Mark 6:13).

The LORD says this about Jesus in Hebrews 1:9, "You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”

So you can see all types of anointing take place all throughout the Bible. Anointing leads to blessings.

Five Ways to Bless Your Home

You can bless your home in these simple five ways…

  1. Get rid of things that contradict the Bible. These things tend to be New Age paraphernalia. Or icons, objects of other religions.

  2. Prayer. Ask God to protect your home and pray in each room of the house if you feel led to.

  3. Play music. Fill your home with uplifting songs of praise and worship. Sing along and invite the Holy Spirit.

  4. Read Scripture out loud. One verse you can read out loud is Psalm 91. If you feel led, walk around your home as you read.

  5. Use anointing oil. The most common place to use the oil is on door frames. But you can also do it on things you want to be set apart for God. As it was done in Exodus 30 and in Matthew 6:16. Pray as you do this.

Why You Should Bless and Anoint Your Home

If you experience unpleasantness in your home it is possible there is a bad spirit lingering. This could be from your house not being protected or an object brought in has an attachment to it. This is why the first step to take is to throw them away. Entities can also come in by a person in the home who sinned. In this case, it calls for repentance.

Blessing and anointing your home will protect it to a certain extent as God does have a final say. Remember nothing can happen to you that God didn’t allow.

When you anoint your home you are setting it apart for God. It is as if you are marking your spiritual territory. You dedicate your home to make it a dwelling place for God. And surely He will bless it.

Conclusion

There are many more examples and references to anointing in the Bible. It is an old practice that can still be used today and should still be used.

Whether your home has been feeling off for a long time or recently give these things a try. If there is nothing apparently wrong with your home do it anyway. Bless your home.

Get rid of ungodly objects, pray over your home, play music, read Scripture out loud, and use anointing oil. Doing these things are sure to bless your home. Doing this will fill your home with holiness.
