- The Blameless Life
You Have Big Dreams, Desires, and Goals But How do you know if they align with God’s plan?
Updated: May 13, 2022
I’ve made a lot and I mean a lot of plans in my life. I’m not talking about planning to go away for the weekend. I’m talking about big plans. Plans that will change the course of your life. I’m sure you have too.
How many of those plans came to fruition? Maybe not as much as you’ve hoped for. But it never hurts to dream.
The beauty of God is that he gives us the freedom to explore those dreams, desires, and goals. But He will also shut doors that we ought not to walk through- if we ask Him to.
You see, our plans without God in the center of them are all in vain. God’s plan for us is to seek Him first, live a righteous life, and give Him glory.
What matters is how we approach and follow through with our plans.
Seeking Him First
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
It can be scary or worrisome to follow through with a big plan. There are sacrifices that may need to take place. Whether it’s a major financial cut or replacing your free time for more labor. You also don’t know if it’ll all work out.
You may worry about not being able to provide for people in your care or for yourself.
But God provides for His children.
The thing is, you have to seek Him first. Make God your priority. The Holy Spirit is going to guide you in the direction you need to go. Involve Him in all your plans.
With that said prepare for shutting doors, rejection, and being misunderstood. One thing to remember is rejection is God’s protection.
And on the other side of it is God’s blessings. If He shuts doors He can also open them. So don’t worry about tomorrow.
Living Righteously
“What the wicked dreads will come upon him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.” -Proverbs 10:24
A desire is going to be an intense feeling of wanting something or wanting something to happen. The intent of our hearts is going to determine whether God will “grant” us these desires.
If those wants of the heart are good and honorable God will see that. And He is sure to give them to you. The desires of the righteous are always going to be pure. That’s why God blesses.
Do your best to live a righteous life, not for the sake of blessings but because God calls us to.
The Glory is for God
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31
In all and every moment of our lives, we are to honor God. And also give Him the glory for every positive outcome.
Say your goals are being met and you are successful. Don’t forget the One who helped you make it happen. Because let’s be honest, we can’t do anything right apart from Him. We are a mess. Don’t you agree?
Whatever we do, do it for God’s glory. Whether you’re taking a walk, sitting at the park, or meeting goals. All that we do should deem worthy of glorifying God.
It’s important to be Kingdom-minded in all our actions.
Whatever you do
Yes, God has a purpose for us. And as I mentioned before, He gives us freedom. He lets us choose our own paths. You will find that it will only lead to destruction and disappointment.
So, you need to seek Him first in all you do. It’s only then you’ll go in the right direction.
Sooner or later you will find that all those dreams, desires, and goals are going to align with God’s purpose for you. The key is to be obedient.
If there's something you'd like to pursue go for it! Be sure to use wisdom and...
Remember these three things when it comes to pursuing your dreams. Seek God, live a righteous life, and give God the glory.
Now go make those dreams, desires, and goals happen!
